My Thursday on the Bay

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Southern
Location: Chesapeake Bay

We fished out of Solomons and headed for the target ship to try for some cobia. Unfortunately, we struck out and so did my buddies friend. We met him down there while we were pulling hoses. He was chumming. We then headed over near Point Lookout looking for redfish but no luck. The other boat headed to the Eastern Shore, and I believe he was across from Point No Point, catching four cobia. Two keepers and two under. We ended up chasing bait up at the gas plant.

Between the two of us we caught 23 rockfish, 16 bluefish, and one mackerel. We used light tackle, casting white bucktails with purple and also gray plastic. The majority of the rockfish were under sized. The bluefish were on average of 16 to 17 and I didnt measure the mackerel.
