10/13/2019 WEST/RHODE RIVER

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: West/Rhode River

On Sunday I took a my son Bryan; longtime friend, Paula Jenkins; and my grandsons, Ryan and Colin, out for their first time running the trotline. We used a 1,000 ft trotline and one collapsible trap baited with fresh chicken necks. We caught some real nice ones (35) total. Biggest one was a 1/8away from being 8 (2) of them were 7-3/4 and many of the crabs were 6-1/2 to 7again. We ran for 3.25 hrs (7:55-11:15) on the high flood tide in around 8ft of water. Temperatures were 64 degrees.
