Patuxent River Rockfish

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Patuxent River

Friend and fishing buddy, Andy called to ask if Id like to do some fishing. Well, what else could I say but, yes of course. So, we headed out from Solomons and put a few rods out to try a little trolling off Cedar Point. With the wind picking up and the lack of a bite we drug up and headed for safer waters on the Patuxent River.

I had heard from a few friends that they had been catching rockfish off the fishing pier at the Navy Recreational Center. As we rounded Point Patience and headed towards the pier we spotted birds working, Andy pointed the boat their direction. It wasnt long before we were on fish.

We were casting bucktails dressed with white paddle tails and we caught our share of fish. Another great day of fall fishing!
