A Few Days of Fishing

Type: Nontidal and Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Bay and Calvert Cliffs

I fished the lower bay on Tuesday evening, 1/14 and during the day Wednesday, 1/15 too after a phone call from a friend to do some striper fishing. Whats an angler to say? Other than, "Sure! Ill meet you at the dock." We were in search of some big fish but they had moved on. BUT!! In all, between the two outings I caught 17 striped bass. All of them in the 24 to 26 range. Jigging them up in 40+ of water. Fun day of catch and release fishing.

This morning, 1/16 I took an hour to fish Calvert Cliffs State park too. The state had stocked the pond with 300 rainbow trout yesterday. So, taking time this morning proved to be a good choice. I caught nine trout on a woolly bugger and bead-head nymph combo. More catching and releasing. Great times.
