Im back in town and on the water!
I fished Smithville Lake for four hours Saturday, Feb. 28 hoping to move up in the standings of the CCA pickerel tournament.
As I headed over to the lake I noticed that the wind was blowing hard enough to keep the tides super low on Tuckahoe Creek and Choptank River. So it wasnt looking good for fishing a shallow lake like Smithville. But I drove on in hope of catching a few fish over 25s. In the end I could only muster up five fish. They were 20+ to 24 inches in length. All the fish were caught on minnows under a bobber. I called it a day after four hours of fishing due to the cold and high wind.
