The weather on Tuesday started out fairly nice but then the rain started, followed by some wind. Under those conditions, I fished Allen's Fresh with my friend, Dennis Flemming. We caught 2 largemouth bass, 8 crappie, 5 male yellow perch and a shiner.
The water temp was 48 degrees and the majority of our fish were caught on minnows under a bobber. A few were caught on a micro jig on ultralight spinning gear.
There were no female perch caught, all were male. We didn't see any perch eggs and we were also hoping to see that the larger female perch were around, but we surmised that they werent in yet. We saw a few other guys catching a perch too. My best guess is that the yellow perch will be running by next week.
