Wading St Marys Lake

Type: Nontidal
Region: Southern
Location: St. Mary's Lake

I took a few hours to fish St. Marys lake today, 5/23. I picked the location because the weather app showed rain this morning. So, I grabbed my waders and rain gear, but the sun came out and the sky stayed blue the entire outing.

I walked 1.4 miles back to St. Mary's Lake and started fishing at the north end of the dam catching a pickerel on a four inch paddle tail. I then walked 3/4 of a mile north on the lake trail. Once there, I dropped into the lake. I waded along the shoreline while fan casting as I worked the lake catching my second fish, a bass. I continued following the shoreline traveling south, back towards the dam. I caught a total of seven bass and losing two (I forgot my landing net). I did catch one yellow perch too.

I ran across a couple of snakes too.
