Hopefully everyones holiday weekend went well.
On Sunday, 5/24, I fished with my grandson, Isaac, at the pond by his house. He caught a crappie. I caught nothing. Yesterday I fished on the Patuxent River with a buddy for rockfish, again nothing.
Today, while full of doubt and low self esteem, I fished the mouth of Mill Creek directly in front of the Chesapeake Biological Laboratory in Solomons catching 27 schoolie rockfish. Two keepers were in the mix, a 19 and 20 fish. I released all fish. I caught them by trolling and jigging then up. I used a 1/4 oz jig with a 4 white paddle tail and a 1/2 oz jig with a 5 purple grub. Self esteem restored!
