Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Southern
Location: Calvert Cliffs

I went fishing this morning, 5/27, in the fog on my buddy, Julian Tsais boat. We left out of Solomons and arrived at the powerhouse a little before 7 a.m.

It wasnt long and we were catching fish. We were fishing the plants warm water discharge with vertical jigs and 1/2 oz jig dressed with a 5 plastic, white or purple. We caught a total of 29 rockfish and two bluefish. The biggest rockfish were 19, 19.5 and 24 inches.

The bluefish were 1/4mile into the drift. They were actually feeding on top. The two I caught were 17 and 19 inches. We did not concentrate on catching them, basically they were bycatch. We left due to the bite turning off around 10:00 a.m.
