Ghost Fleet of Mallows Bay

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Mallows Bay

I fished Mallows Bay today, 6/4/2020. I met friends, Julian and Tim, at the ramp at 7:00 a.m. Conditions today were nice, but not so much for fishing. There were very few clouds so the sun was an issue. No wind or little, another negative. Plus the water was very silty, even in the main stem of the Potomac.

Out of the three of us I was lucky enough to catch fish. I worked hard, traveled to deeper pools I know of, fished shaded banks and used several different lures to make things happen. I caught most of the fish on a shaky head rig, with a green/white six inch worm. I did catch one bass on a spinner bait and a whopper plopper (both white). In total I caught nine bass. I saw two other bass caught on a small chartreuse jig and two blue catfish on cut bait by other anglers at Mallows.
