With the current heatwave we need to think of the safety of not only ourselves but that of the fish we catch and release too. There is a season for every fish. For example, I wouldnt target muskie in mid summer, the heat stress on the fish could be detrimental. The current water temperatures are in the low to mid 80s. Oxygen levels in the upper water column is low or non existent. I like to say, a cast not taken is a fish not caught. But lets also think about what we are casting at. Plan ahead and Respect the catch.
