Fishing Mill Creek

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Mill Creek

The weather of course is better today so I headed out to fish Mill Creek. I had hoped to catch a bunch of different species but in the end only catching four. Two redfish, six rockfish (schoolies), nine white perch and a cownose ray (actually snagging his wing). I was trying to show the diversity in the creek. Ive caught largemouth bass, snakehead, Seatrout, cownose ray, striped bass, white perch, bluefish, mackerel, cutlassfish, Atlantic lizard fish, puffers, spot, croaker etc. So Im feeling that I had a poor showing. Anyway, the upper end of the feeder creeks to Mill Creek were rather muddy and full of leaf debris. Only catching a few white perch up in them. I caught the other fish off rip rap points and under piers. The ray came off a sea wall. It turned to eat the bait but snagged itself. I fought it for fifteen minutes or so. I beached myself, got out of the kayak, but when I got him into one foot of water he wasnt having it. He then broke me off. In the end it was a great morning on the water!
