Monday on the Bay

Type:
Region: Southern
Location: Target Ships

I fished the bay on my friend, Julian Tsais boat today (photo with mackerel). He invited his friend Jeff Rusher (photo with cobia) to join us as well. We left out of Point Lookout at seven in the morning and headed over to the Target Ship and the Middle Grounds looking for red fish and cobia.

We started out by trolling four large surgical tubes and one #2 Clark spoon. We caught a small cobia and a nice mackerel on the spoon. We then pulled up the tubes to look for birds to fish under and cobia on the surface too. I only sighted rays. In the end we only found bluefish as we used light tackle to find big red fish below the breaking bluefish. We moved on and headed to the Western Shore, but found dirty water when we got there.

It was a beautiful day on the Bay.
