40" Northern Pike

Type: Nontidal
Region: Western
Location: Deep Creek Lake

I was by myself trolling on a cloudy Sunday morning (Aug 16, 2020) about 10:00 in Green Glade Cove (Deep Creek Lake) when the fish hit my Mr. Twister Spinner bait. After about 20 minutes, battling the 3 wakeboat waves, and 3 runs the fish played out. My net wasnt really big enough, but I somehow scooped him in the boat. I was using my dads rod with old 8 lb test line. He was hooked with one hook in the corner of its mouth, I still dont know how I caught this fish. I missed a big one when I was 16, ironically using the same type of lure, it took me 38 years to get a second chance. Its the biggest fish I ever landed. I think I will have bragging rights over my 2 sons for awhile.

David received a FishMaryland certificate for this catch. Congratulations!
