Versitile Frog Flies from South Dakota

Type: Nontidal and Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Mill Creek and St, Mary's Lake

On Monday, 8/31, I received some frog flies from South Dakota, and I thought I might give them a try on Tuesday. I grabbed my fly rod (9wt). I went down to the pier first since its the first day of the reopened Striped Bass Season (9/1), I took a few casts. After tying on a Leftys clouser I caught a few small rockfish.

I then headed to Saint Marys Lake. After walking the one and a half miles back to the water, I found some small bass near some lily pads. I used my new frogs to catch them. Fun.
