Last Friday I got a text from my friend Andy. He asked if I wanted to meet him at the boat and run across the bay. We dropped two red hoses and two Clark spoons and started trolling along the channel off the Eastern Shore. Looking for cobia, mackerel and bluefish.
We had one big fish pull a rod down and make a drag-pulling run but it broke off before we could get control of the fish. We caught several bluefish and mackerel on the spoons as well as one cownose ray. Even though the weather didnt cooperate (a lot of wind and waves) the outing was fun.
PS: After we got back to the dock I ran down to the pier and caught a small rockfish to top off my day.
