A Day on Hunting Creek

I fished Hunting Creek with my buddy Bryan Meade on Saturday. He drove up from NC. We had planned on fly fishing for snakehead on the blackwater but that plan fell through with all the wind. We decided to fish Little Hunting Creek. But... there was basically no water there. We then turned our attention to Hunting Creek. There I caught one small brown trout on a freshwater shrimp fly. I tried everything I had too. We only came away with a single fish.

We stopped at Hunting Creek Outfitters in Frederick on the way back. We talked with staff and the owner (a great crew there). They too spoke about the lack of water in all of the streams. Although, we here in southern Maryland have been literally flooded, they are starving for water.

It was a great day fishing with friends.
