This cusk (Brosme brosme) was caught by Lucas Franzetti while deep dropping off Ocean City on October 6, 2020. It weighed 19.44 pounds on the certified commercial scale at Martin's seafood. The cusk is a North Atlantic cod-like fish in the ling family Lotidae, and rarely is found south of New England and Long Island, NY. We believe this is the southernmost catch of a cusk and the largest on record in Maryland. The angler will receive a notable catch certificate for a rare species.
