Wednesday's Tidal and Nontidal Fishing

Type: Nontidal and Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Lake Collusion, Mill Creek

Yesterday, 10/14, I headed over to Seahorse Beach to fish Lake Collusion. My thought was that I would fish the lake in the morning for largemouth bass then haul the kayak across the road and fish the bay in the afternoon for rockfish.

The fishing on the lake proved difficult, due to the recent weather I believe. Catching three bass on a beetle spin, the water was rather colored and other baits werent producing. The beetle spin was dressed with a white Mr Twister.

After fishing the lake for a few hours I headed back to the Jeep. I then took a few minutes to look out over the bay. Looking for working birds or bait. Seeing none I decided to fish Mill Creek where I knew I could catch a few rockfish. Arriving at the creek's launch site, after lunch at home, I headed out to cast and troll the channel edges. There I found fish off the points out near the channel. Trolling and casting 1/2 and 1oz jigs dressed in four inch plastics in white and pink/orange.
