I had a long day on Wednesday 10/21. I took a three hour drive to fish the York and Piankatank Rivers (VA) with friends, Dennis Flemming and Steve Rehner. I left home and returned home in the fog and dark.
We headed out early to hunt and fish for speckled trout. We were casting 1/4 & 1/2oz jigs with paddle tails and twister tail gulp baits. We also caught fish on popping cork rigs as well. Fishing the mouth of the York we hunted for fish in grass. On the Piankatank we looked for fish in 6 to 12 foot of water near drop offs. We caught over 70 fish, a mix of speckled trout, red drum, a few rockfish, a southern kingfish and a couple of spot. The largest trout was 231/4 largest red drum 231/2.
