Ugh! The weather, it needs to quit raining. Ive fished this past week but sporadically due to an array of meetings etc. but I did get out with my buddy Julian on Sunday. We trolled the Patuxent for rockfish. Catching only undersized fish.
On Monday, Nov. 9th, my buddy Dennis reported he and his buddies fished the CCNPP (Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant) and caught seatrout. Three fish 15 inches and a nice 23.5 caught by Jack Florio! They then moved to the Eastern Shore chasing birds and limiting out on rockfish in the mid 20s.
On Tuesday, Nov. 10th I fished with my 17 year old grandson, Aidan, chasing blue catfish. We started the day buying him a rod and reel, tackle box and terminal gear. Although we only caught one blue catfish Hes hooked!
Wednesday Isaac and I hit Calvert Cliffs for snakehead. I spent the late afternoon on Monday scoping out the marsh missing 12 blowups on my frog. So Isaac and I headed over hoping to get him an a fish. But the weather didnt cooperate and the sun never came out. I hooked a fish on a fluke but it came unbuttoned.
While at Calvert Cliffs I spoke with an angler on Monday and my buddy Chris Whiteman, he fished with us Wednesday, they both had hooked fish on a fluke. 12 and 5 fish respectively, but failed to land any snakehead. So I surmise the fish were lethargic and not committing to artificial baits. Maybe minnows would have done the trick?
Busy week so far, off to Tuckahoe tomorrow and Triadelphia on Saturday.
