Rockfish on the Bay

My friend, Julian Tsai and I headed south out of Solomons yesterday morning and headed south. We spotted birds and a fleet of boats just north of buoy 72A. The birds stretched East and north towards Hoppers Light.

We started catching immediately, casting 1 oz jigs with five/six inch plastics and metal jigs too.We ended up catching 31 fish with the majority under but with a few keepers too. No giants though.

There were up to 20 plus boats at any given time. Trolling through active birds, racing past schools of fish etc. we called it early.
