Some Rockfish Fishing

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Southern
Location: Chesapeake Bay

Today, Dec. 3, turned out as I planned. That is, bigger rockfish.

I set out today to catch just one more rockfish. That fish would put me at 500 rockfish for the year. But... I ended the day with a final count of 550. My buddies Julian Tsai (red cost) and Doc Christie (light olive colored coat) and I ended the day with 127 fish caught with 27 plus keepers in the mix.

The biggest fish topped out at 31 on light tackle, 2oz jig with 7 white plastics and 1-2oz blue metal jigs. We fished the bay north of buoy 72, both sides of the channel 40-50 of water, with Point No Point lighthouse across the bay. Then we found 28-31 fish near the mouth of the Patuxent River. Again in 40/50 of water Near the HI buoy. The weather wasnt half bad either. Fun day!
