Snakehead

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: White Neck Creek

I was perch fishing from the dock behind my house on White Neck creek and noticed this fish cruising the shallows on a low tide. I went in to get my bow and when I came back it was still there. I placed a good shot on it and retrieved it with a minimal struggle. It looked to be a female measuring 22 in length and approximately 4 lbs in weight. I noticed one there a couple weeks ago but it evaded me. Not the case this time around. Ill see it in the frying pan later tonight!

DNR RESPONSE: Thanks for helping us to lower the population size of this invasive species in Maryland. Drop us info on the catch with a picture that clearly shows the fish is dead every time you kill one, and youll get entered again. Thanks for helping out the bass population and the Potomac River ecosystem!
