Goldfish in Magothy Tributary

Type: Nontidal
Region: Central
Location: Magothy Tributary- Cape St Claire

We have received numerous reports of introduced goldfish of various colorations (including "black salties") in creeks, streams and ponds on the western and eastern shores of Maryland. The easiest way to tell them apart from carp is that they have no chin barbels. My son Ethan caught this 8 inch goldfish on a #12 hook with a small piece of worm on 4 lb test in the headwaters of a Magothy tributary. They have also been caught in a local beaver pond in the same area.
