I launched my kayak yesterday at Mattingly boat ramp on a beautiful sunny day in the 80s. I was fishing a weightless ZOOM frog most of the morning and caught 6 bass, one was almost 3lb. Just before leaving I casted a Texas rigged blue Senko into lily pads and BOOM! This 6.5lb Snakehead crushed it! I had a hard time handling it in my kayak and I will never forget a net again. The fish was killed then filleted and will be getting fried up later today
DNR RESPONSE: Thanks for helping us to lower the population size of this invasive species in Maryland. Drop us info on the catch with a picture that clearly shows the fish is dead every time you kill one, and youll get entered again. Thanks for helping out the bass population and the Potomac River ecosystem!
