I walked back to the marsh at Calvert Cliffs today to see if the snakehead bite was on. This time last year I had already started catching them. But the weather was warmer then. After spending part of the morning casting for snakehead I called it. I headed out, but as I passed the pond on the way to the parking lot I noticed surface activity on the water. I went home, ate lunch then grabbed my 3wt fly rod and headed back.
I caught 11 rainbow trout and two bluegill on a bead head nymph. I released all the fish safely. Fun afternoon! You never know unless you take the cast.
