Catfish on the Patuxent

Type: Tidal
Region: Southern
Location: Patuxent River

I headed out early on 4/6/21 to pick up two of my grandsons, Aidan (blue hoody) and Isaac (ball cap). We fished the Patuxent River out of Lower Marlboro off the small public fishing pier.

We were fishing on the bottom with cut alewife. We caught two catfish plus another, a channel catfish. I believe the catfish Isaac is holding is a white catfish? And the one Aidan is holding is too. Their tail, wide heads and white chin barbels are characteristic of a white catfish. The kids had a blast catching the fish.
