First Cast Mentored Fishing Program

The First Cast Mentored Fishing Program organized by U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service is intended to introduce first time adult anglers (18 and older) to fishing. This program provides mentees the opportunity to learn from and fish with skilled veteran anglers (mentors).

To apply, please complete a short, online registration form, HERE.

No experience is necessary to participate in this program, but if selected a fishing license will be required. Space is limited and participants will be selected through an application process. You will be notified via phone and email if you have been selected for the program by June 4th. (Please note: only those selected will be notified).

Location: Dorchester County, MD (Blackwater National Wildlife Refuge and the pavilion at the Harriet Tubman Underground Railroad Visitor Center.)
