Snakehead on the Blackwater

Today, 7/14, I fished with friends Anastasia St Cloud and Grant Elliot. Grant has wanted his girlfriend Anastasia to catch a snakehead for some time now. They tried a few times out of the Drawbridge Rd ramp, but w/o luck. So I told them to meet me over on the Little Blackwater off Egypt Rd.

While I waited for them to show up I caught my first of five fish. When they showed and after they launched I gave them the rundown on what, where, why and how. We fished from 6:30 til 11:00. The heat of the day was wearing on us so we called it early.

Grant said he hooked and released a small fish. Then it came Anastasia�s turn. She had hooked into a small fish with a paddle tail rigged weedless, but it came unbuttoned at the boat. She took another cast. This time with a chatter bait. To her surprise she caught a 28� fish! It was a fun few hours on the water.
