We had a great day on the bay and lower Potomac River fishing off of Julian Tsais boat. Bryan Meade, David Rudow and I had a blast. It was epic the look and excitement on Davids face. He not only got his first red drum, he got three red drum!
First thing we did was head south towards the western shore looking for birds or breaking fish. Seeing none we kept on south. There we saw a fleet of boats trolling for mackerel and one or two with a chum line hunting Cobia. We only caught one mackerel and two lizardfish there. Pulling spoons on #1&2 plainers.
We then headed to Point Lookout. Fishing the edge of the shoal on the river side. Feeling bites but no takers. We then fished near and little up river. There we caught seven red drum. Six in the slot and one short. David also caught a bluefish there. I caught a few schoolies. The bite then dropped off, I am assuming due to our boat moving around looking for the fish, moving several times. So we headed to the jetties leading into the state park. There we caught a lizard fish and three trout before we headed back up the bay to Solomons. I wanted David to catch his first cutlass fish also so we fished Mill Creek for a few moments. I caught a big cutlass fish on my first cast but that was the only fish caught there. All said it was a great day of fishing
