Smithville Lake Community Park

I fished on the Eastern Shore today, 9/07, targeting pickerel on Smithville Lake. The bite started very slow and I considered moving to Tuckahoe State Park but, the wind picked up a bit and pushed the algae and duckweed that was on the surface of the lake around, and cleared the lake some.

I was casting and trolling a small crankbait, #3 Mepps and/or a 1/4oz paddle tail jig. If I caught a fish while trolling I would then make multiple casts where I caught a fish. I ended up catching additional fish more times than not.

I caught 16 largemouth bass, most 13� to 16� aand a few smalls too. I caught 7 pickerel and a small crappie too.
