Adam Zolan, 17, caught a 12 fallfish in Rock Creek in Kensington, MD on a nightcrawler.
Rock Creek has historically been a degraded-habit stream due to run-off, erosion and non-point source pollution. But in the last few years, water quality has improved to the point where the creeks macro invertebrate and aquatic insect base has started to come back, and more fish are now in the stream. As the creek continues to clean up, the fishing will steadily improve.
Adam was fishing deep holes and undercut banks in the small creek with a chunk of nightcrawler when the chunky fallfish hit. It made two runs and even jumped twice during the fight. It was the biggest Fallfish weve ever caught in Rock Creek, and Adams biggest fallfish ever.
After the photo, the fish was released back into the creek.
