Some Pickerel Fishing

I�ve been pickerel fishing on the western and eastern shores. From December 8th to today (1/7/22). I�ve been catching fish on St Mary�s Lake, Magothy and Severn River, Unicorn, Tuckahoe, Idyllwild WMA, Smithville and Johnson�s.

During this time I caught 72 pickerel, and bycatches of 14 largemouth bass. I did target crappie one day, catching 16. I snagged a gizzard shad too, ugh. Six of the pickerel I�ve caught were citation fish, 2-24� 1-25� 2-26.5� 1-26.75�.

Most of the pickerel were caught on minnows under a bobber on a small jig. The fish caught on the rivers were caught on jerk baits. The crappie were caught on a small jig fished over top of schools of crappie that I found on my fish finder. Dropping the jig and slowly working the bait up and down.
