On 2/2/22 I fished the Pocomoke River out of Snow Hill with a couple of friends.
We found fish sitting on the bottom of the channel by casting small 1/8oz -1/4oz jigs tipped with minnows. Wed cast the bait out, letting it settle to the bottom then slowly swim the bait back to the boat while jigging the bait in a slow up and down motion. As the tide came in we found perch in 5-6 of water over cover too.
I was casting a jerk bait and 1/4 jig with a white paddle tail and caught a few fish on them while trolling them along channel edges, also. I was targeting pickerel while the other two anglers were targeting yellow perch. In all we caught an estimated 33 pickerel, 27 yellow perch a 40 gar and a largemouth bass.
A great winter day of fishing.
