Wednesday (2/9), after a dismal day of fishing on the Eastern Shore, I received an email from Maryland DNR about trout stocking. They put 250 trout into the pond at Calvert Cliffs State Park.
So, this morning (2/10) I headed to Calvert Cliffs. I fished two hours using a woolly bugger with a bead head nymph dropper on a three weight, I caught 21 stocked rainbow trout. I then switched to casting a Panther Martin on ultralight spinning gear and caught an additional 12 fish. All my fish were catch and release. Remember you need a trout stamp and the limit, if you are keeping fish, is five.
A big thank you to the Maryland DNR for their put and take trout stocking efforts!
The first photo is of Jason Carrico, he caught his limit today. (After this photo was taken he caught two more fish)
