Eastern Shore Millponds

Type:
Region: Eastern
Location: Tuckahoe State Park

I fished two ponds today (2/11/22), starting out on Smithville. After two hours of not catching any fish I decided to drag up and head over to Tuckahoe.

My decision was based on two factors. First, of course, was the lack of a bite. The second came after I thought about fishing Johnsons on Wednesday. There again, no bite. My thought is that the lakes that had iced over and also had little to a no flow rates werent producing. The Pocomoke and some of the western and eastern shore rivers were producing some fish. Tuckahoe kinda meets the latter. Tuckahoe is essentially a large creek with a very small basin before the dam, with a fish ladder, to me it feels more like the Pocomoke north of the bridge.

,p> Anyway my call to move worked out. Catching few largemouth bass, a pickerel and a nice 12.25 black crappie. Catching on minnows on jigs below a bobber.
