Some March Fishing

On the third week of March I fished St Mary�s Lake for largemouth bass. Catching a few small bass and crappie on a small square billed plug and small spinner bait.

I targeted snakehead on the upper Patuxent too, but without any luck didn't catch anything. I only caught one very small largemouth bass.

Although it isn�t in Maryland, I targeted shad on the Potomac just north of Fletchers. I ended up catching 30 shad, hickory and a few American too. All were caught on a shad dart with a gold spoon.

I then fished Lake Collusion in Calvert County. I caught largemouth bass, perch, crappie and a bluegill by casting wacky rigs and swim jigs.

To end the week I targeted hickory shad on the Mattawomen. The weather turned cooler so I had to work extra hard to catch 13 Shad, a blueback herring and a tiny yellow perch. All on Shad dart with a trailer spoon. Most colors worked. Catching a citation sized hickory shad, 18�!
