My First Black Drum

On Friday, 4/8 and very early Saturday, 4/9, morning I had the pleasure of fishing with Lenny Rudow and Zach Ditmars of FishTalk magazine.

We set out to hunt and catch black drum off Assateaque Island in the Atlantic. I had never surf fished for black drum so this was my first outing targeting them. I was fishing a high low rig with a 4 or 6oz breakaway sinker. The bait used was a combination of sand fleas we harvested and Fishbites EZ Flea. We caught a slew of clearnose skates and Zach hooked a nice dogfish.

I had a blast catching my first two black drum! Thank you to both Lenny and Zach for such a great time!
