My grandson Isaac spent the afternoon with me (5/4) so we ran over to a small pond on a local golf course here in Calvert County. We started out casting wacky rigs and it paid off. Isaac caught a nice bass and I caught a couple too. We only fished for 30 mins or so, I dropped Isaac off and went back to the pond for some bluegill fishing.
I could see the bluegill sitting on their beds, they were very aggressive. They wouldnt eat any baits I cast at them, they simply pushed the bait away. I then switched to Casting a fly under a bobber on ultralight gear. An old method of catching finicky panfish I used as a child back in the early 70s. It paid off. Catching 21 fish. And one crappie too.
I had a fun time fishing with my grandson and bluegill fishing too!
