Point Lookout State Park Fishing

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Southern
Location: Point Lookout

On Friday, September 2nd, I fished out of Point Lookout State Park. After Launching at the ramp I headed into Cornfield Harbor and worked my way to the lighthouse. Fishing off the old cast iron pilings I looked for the rock piles on my meter.

I was casting a 1/2 or 3/8oz jig dressed with a 4 electric chicken colored paddle tail did the trick. I caught four red drum and three striped bass and a verity of species. A few of the smaller fish were caught on a sabiki rig tipped with bloodworm FishBites.

I ended up catching nine different species: red drum, striped bass, lizardfish, needlefish, spot, croaker, flounder, black sea bass, and a puffer fish.

Fun late summer fishing.
