I fished St Marys Lake on 9/7/22 for about four hours. My friend Julian Tsai met me at the ramp and we fished several areas before I figured a out a pattern.
The fish were holding in four to eight feet of water over grass. Casting a light orange colored square billed crankbait at a slow steady pace generated the bite. We caught a few crappie too, casting a 1/8oz jig with a white and chartreuse paddle tail at the upper end of the lake in 2.5 to 4 of water over grass. I caught 10 largemouth bass, three crappie and a yellow perch. Julian caught fish too.I spoke to another angler, he said he was catching (14 LMB) earlier in the day on plastics and swim-jigs.
