Location: Calvert Cliffs, Indian Creek NRMA
On Thursday 10/20, I started my day by fishing the bay off Calvert Cliffs. I only fished there just over an hour due to the wind shift from a South East direction. But I was about to catch seven striped bass, of which three were keepers. All fish released safely.
I then had lunch at home before heading out again. I then fished the pond at Indian Creek NRMA. Casting the same bait I used to catch the striped bass. There I caught a 21.5 largemouth bass and a 10.5 redear sunfish before I received the DNR email notice of trout being stocked at Calvert Cliffs SP.
I jumped into the truck and headed back down to southern Calvert County. I stopped at the house and grabbed my 3wt fly rod. Fishing the pond at the park I caught eight rainbow trout. All fish caught this day were released safely.
What a fun and busy day! Three fisheries, four species and all in just a few hours of fishing.
