Potomac River Crappie

I fished with friends Dennis and Steve on 4/21 fishing two coves off of the Potomac River today. We fished Oxon Creek cove and the Spoils area too.

We fished using spider rigs holding 12 extendable length, 12 foot crappie rods. They were rigged each with two lip hooked minnows on small jigs of various types.

We were catching crappie in the 12 to 14 inch range. The boat caught 16 crappie, three white perch, six channel catfish and six blue catfish.

Boy, what a beautiful day on the river urban fishing!!
