Some Monday Fishing

Type: Chesapeake
Region: Southern
Location: Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant

I fished with friends Dennis and Chris yesterday (5/1) at the Calvert Cliffs Nuclear Power Plant for a few hours, before the wind moved in. We caught around 26 or so striped bass. The fish were in the mid 20s with the largest being 30.35. All released safely.

We were catching fish in the discharge (jigs) and along the shoreline (jerk baits). We saw a 47 fish caught and another large fish caught. I believe both were released. There were only three boats working the discharge and only one boat casting along the shoreline. When we left at 10:00 there was just a single boat working the discharge. The ramp at Solomons was basically empty (very few trailers) when we arrived and when we left. Windy and cool day on the water.
