Invasive Species Tournament
Type: Chesapeake
Region: Eastern Shore
Location: Choptank River and tributaries of the Choptank River Only. From Greensboro out to Buoy 10.
Sponsored by Mid-Shore Fishing Club of Maryland
Date: July 1-31, 2023 (Fish anytime the whole month)
Entrance Fees: Must be signed up and paid by Friday, July 29 th by 4pm
- Adults: $25.00 per person
- Children 12 and under: $10.00 per person
- All are welcome to sign up, you DO NOT have to be a member of the Club

Registration: Sign up at the Mid-Shore Fishing Club Monthly Meeting on June 15, 2023 at the Elks Club on Rt. 50 Cambridge MD. At 7pm. You may also contact Christy Helgason at 443-521-7680 or email Christy at [email protected].
Target Species: Blue Catfish, Flathead Catfish (Mud Cat), and Snakehead

Guaranteed Payout each of the 4 Categories:
- 1st place 250.00
- 2nd place 150.00
- 3rd place 75.00
- In case of a tie, winners will be determined by fish checked in by phone
Rules:
- Can fish anytime July 1-31, 2023
- Each day you catch fish you will snap a picture on your phone (JPEG Pictures only) and send it to Bob Lawrence at 410-365-5723 or email to [email protected]
Tips:
- For largest fish pictures sent in, must have picture of the fish on a measurement device. Include date.
- For total # of fish category, you can take a picture of many fish together with total number caught. Include date.
- Each day you send in any entry you will need to take a picture of where you were with a landmark of some type such as Boat ramp with boat in water, channel marker, bridge, etc.
- Your invasive species catch SHOULD NOT be returned to the water. The purpose of this tournament is to extract these fish from the echo system! These species are eating everything!
Awards: Awards will be given out at the Mid-Shore Fishing Club August 17, 2023 meeting at 7pm at the Elks Club Rt. 50 Cambridge MD.
