This morning I loaded up the freshwater gear and headed to St Mary�s Lake.
Getting on the water at 7:30 (fished til 12:30), I headed up the lake. Once there, I caught yellow perch, bass, pickerel and crappie. I then made my way down the north shoreline around a few points and settled near the NE corner of the dam. Catching a few additional bass and a third yellow perch along the way, while casting and trolling.
I settled near a patch of grass in 10� of water a few hundred feet off the dam and a hundred or so feet from the white DNR buoy markers. There I found a school of largemouth bass. All about a pound or just a little more. Catching on a red square billed crankbait. Catching 7 or 8 fish before they got wise.
I caught the panfish on small jerkbaits. A few bass too. The pickerel I caught on the crankbait and jerkbaits.In all I caught:
