A Little Bass and Pier Fishing

I took a few casts over at the pond at Indian Creek NRMA on 8/22. Actually I didn�t take the first cast until around 9:00. With the Canadian wildfire smoke in the sky and a bit of wind (wind is why I stayed off the kayak today) there wasn�t a need to rush out for a morning bite on a pond. Figuring the fish would still be out hunting with the overcast and wind.

I ended up catching six largemouth bass on a wacky rig (Yum Dinger 5� watermelon with a Spearpoint hook). The fish were throughout the pond, but I did chase three schools of bass that were driving bait up against the shoreline. I caught three of the bass out of their explosive feeding activity.

I then had lunch with my wife and grandson Wyatt. He wanted to take a few cast off the community pier. Catching spot and croaker on Chesapeake Sabiki tipped with crab Fishbites.

A Fun few hours of fishing.
