Seeing that I didnt get to bed on 9/13 til past midnight I opted for a late start fishing. I chose St Marys Lake, close to home and relatively easy catching on the lake. I launched at 10 a.m. I fished til 3:00 p.m.
I caught 2 small pickerel, as of late I have caught a lot of small pickerel out of St Marys Lake, they are maybe 10 in length. There must had been a good spawn thinking two years ago because of their size.
I also caught a bluegill, an 11" white perch, 12 largemouth bass and a yellow perch. And 10 black crappie on small jerk baits. The crappie were nice eating sized fish. Late year fish. Catching them on the upper end of the lake over grass trolling the baits.
A few of the fish were caught on wacky rig, but most on Berkley Flicker Shad. Casting and trolling the bait. The bite was on blue colored baits, or a mix of blues. Just wanting to get on the water and take a few casts (and catch). I played it safe and fished over grass just off shore in 4-14 of water.
