A Mill Creek Monday

I didn�t plan on fishing today (9/18) and decided to catch up on cleaning gear and working on a Fishtalk article. But�

I thought I�d take a cast or two off the community pier and caught one striped bass and watched them blow up on bait.

So� I headed back home, loaded up the kayak and headed out on the water. The sky started to light up. There wasn�t any surface action. When it started to darken back up the water came alive and I caught eight additional striped bass. Then the sky started to clear and the bite stopped, so I headed in. I was catching on Hardhead Custom Bait Shad head, 3/4&1/2oz with 4-5� plastic (white and chartreuse), casting and trolling both. Fish were 19/20� average, a couple above and a few below.

BTW the blue heron was stalking me, wanting my catch. :-)
